Position Summary:
As the GM of Bloglines you will be responsible for overall management of Bloglines including driving and overseeing the product, partner, marketing, customer acquisition and PR strategy and operations of the business. You will be the primary public spokesperson for Bloglines and will be expected to be a leading voice in the industry by conveying enthusiasm and passion for both Bloglines and the blogging/online syndicated content industry.
Ideally, you will have already established a strong internet background, with proficiency in analytical thinking and creative problem solving. You also posses the ability to manage direct and indirect reports and resources, the aptitude to thrive in fast-paced environment, and the capacity to work well with all levels of the organization.
Given the public visibility of this position, you should be comfortable with speaking in public and communicating with the media. You should also share our enthusiasm for and experience with blogging (reading and/or writing).
Position Responsibilities
Develop and implement growth strategies for business
Define strategy and business plan, including site success metrics
Manage the ongoing P&L of the business
Implement plan and exceed goals
Build
key, long-term relationships with decision makers at the executive
levels of partner organizations and with key influencers in the media
and blogosphere
Become a leading voice in the blogging/syndicated
content industry by maintaining fluency with current trends, regularly
appearing in public forums and, preferably, blogging.
Oversee and guide development of the following areas:
Product Management:
Develop strategic business plans that build user base customer loyalty to grow the business
Work with technology and design teams to manage and prioritize site development
Oversee competitive analysis
Manage partner relationships, as needed, including initial deal work
Marketing:
Develop and manage strategies for PR, marketing, and other viral marketing growth.
Analytics:
Develop and analyze metrics for business performance
Job Requirements:
Ability to excel in fast paced entrepreneurial environment

Experience running a business unit or product line at an on-line company
Strong
leadership / interpersonal skills and personal influencing skills to
solicit information, obtain cooperation and effectively influence the
direction of the overall strategy
Strong strategic thinking and deep understanding of internet
Fluent with the product development lifecycle, and experience designing and delivering quality products
Excellent communication and presentation skills
Proven success and at least 5 years experience in product management and/or marketing
Passionate and enthusiastic with contagious energy and motivation, with a drive for success.
Avid Blog reader required, active blogger preferred
